He has called Phoenix home since 2015, and today he's one of the most recognizable independent country voices touring Arizona and the greater West.
His sound reflects that restless upbringing. Chauncey works the line between old-school country grit and a brighter, more contemporary feel — songs that hit hard on first listen but stick with you because of how personal they are. Whether or not country is usually your genre, his songs tend to land: stories about family, love, and the road have a way of feeling universal.
His love of the genre took root early. As a kid in Plano, he'd post up on the railroad tracks near the legendary Love and War in Texas honky-tonk, soaking up songwriters before the rest of the world caught on — including a then-unknown Miranda Lambert. Of everything he heard growing up, it was Eli Young Band that left the biggest mark on him.
Chauncey is one of five siblings, and the lessons that shaped him didn't come from a stage — they came from summers spent with his grandparents in Missouri, fishing for the family's dinner and keeping an eye on his younger brothers and sisters. Money and food weren't always guaranteed growing up, so he learned early how to be resourceful and how to take care of the people around him — habits that still define how he runs his career today, from leading his band to running his own business.
Back in Texas, he took that grounding and put it to work, cutting his teeth at festivals and rodeos across the Southwest — the kind of rooms where a song either connects or it doesn't. It's where his sound came together: classic country storytelling, delivered with a modern edge. He's also spoken about his faith and family as central to who he is on and off stage, describing himself simply as a husband, father, son, a brother, and someone who doesn't take any of those roles lightly.
Since planting roots in Phoenix, Chauncey has built a serious touring footprint across Arizona and the western U.S. — and he's done it entirely on his own terms. No label. No corporate machine. Just miles, songs, and a fanbase earned one show at a time. His calendar reflects the hustle: dozens of dates a year across honky-tonks, rodeos, festivals, casinos, cruise ships, corporate events, and private parties, with a full band or a stripped-down acoustic set depending on the room. That range — and the professionalism behind it — has made him a go-to act for everything from a packed Saturday night bar crowd to a formal private event.
That grind has put him on some notable stages, too. He opened for Easton Corbin in his first big support slot, and has since shared bills with Aaron Watson at Billy Bob's Texas, Riley Green at Tucson's historic Rialto Theatre, Phil Vassar, and Coffey Anderson. In 2021, he performed the winning song on behalf of J. Michael Harter, honored that year as Texas Country Songwriter of the Year — a moment that underscored his standing as a serious songwriter, not just a performer.
He also knows what it's like to go viral for the right reasons: back in 2017, his cover of Kane Brown's "Pull It Off" got shared by Kane Brown himself, sending thousands of new fans his way overnight.
Chauncey has steadily built out a catalog of original music that traces his own growth as a songwriter, including tracks like "Just a Kid," "Truck Back," "Seasons," "Pass It On," "Do What We Do," "Heart to Heart," and "Love and Trucks." Each one leans into the same throughline — real experiences turned into songs people can actually see themselves in, rather than something manufactured for radio.
New music in the pipeline, starting with his 2025 single "Polaroid," with more on the way. Beyond Arizona and the West, he's been steadily pushing his touring reach into the Midwest and toward the East Coast, proving that a self-built country career doesn't have to stay regional to grow.
