For more than 20 years, Chad has built a career around one thing he clearly knows how to do well: entertain a crowd. From intimate acoustic performances to a full six-piece band, Chad Freeman & Redline have become a familiar name throughout Arizona and across the Southwest, delivering the kind of high-energy country show that keeps dance floors full and audiences coming back.
Chad Freeman & Redline officially formed in 2009, beginning with local performances before quickly expanding throughout the region. It wasn't long before the band was making regular appearances in Las Vegas and performing in connection with major events including the PBR and NFR Finals, NASCAR, the Super Bowl and CMA Fest in Nashville.
And then Chad's musical journey took a pretty incredible turn.
When he wasn't fronting Redline, Chad stepped into one of the most recognizable costumes in pop culture, touring internationally as the Cowboy with the legendary Village People.
That opportunity took him far beyond the Southwest and onto stages around the globe. Chad performed in approximately 15 countries, with stops including Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Poland, Canada, Mexico, Chile, France and Switzerland.
His travels and performances have included everything from cruise ships and international stages to major American events. He's performed in Times Square for New Year's Eve, at NASCAR events, the Fiesta Bowl, Super Bowl festivities and during the NFR and PBR Finals in Las Vegas.
That's a résumé most musicians would be pretty happy to hang their cowboy hat on.
But after seeing a good portion of the world, Chad's heart ultimately brought him back to the music and audiences that started it all.
At the core of Chad's career is country music.
Today, Chad Freeman & Redline can tailor a performance anywhere from Chad performing solo to a full band, which has allowed him to build an incredibly busy schedule that can reach more than 250 performances in a year.
And calling the band's catalog "extensive" might actually be an understatement.
Their song list moves effortlessly through generations of country music, with music from artists such as George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash alongside newer country favorites from Chris Stapleton, Cody Johnson, Luke Combs, Jon Pardi, Morgan Wallen and Tyler Childers. Then they'll turn around and throw Southern rock, classic rock and other crowd favorites into the mix.
That versatility makes sense when you look at the variety of stages Chad has played over the years. Whether the crowd came to two-step, sing along, hear a ballad or spend the night on the dance floor, Chad has learned how to read a room and give people a show.
His work has also put him alongside an impressive collection of nationally recognized artists over the years, with performances connected to names including Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Lee Brice, Dustin Lynch, Randy Rogers Band and others.
While audiences may know Chad and Redline for their ability to cover an enormous range of music, original music has also been part of their story.
Chad's official website features original recordings including “Cowboy Heart,” “Blame It On the Whiskey” and “Livin Country,” along with live recordings and performances that showcase the range of the band.
That combination — original music, a huge catalog of familiar favorites and years of live-performance experience — has helped Chad Freeman & Redline develop a reputation as much for entertainment as musicianship.
And after thousands of performances, Chad still appears to approach the job the same way: get on stage, connect with the crowd and make sure people have a great time.
This year brought another major recognition for Chad's career when he was named Best Performing Artist of the Valley 2026 by Phoenix Magazine, recognizing his work entertaining audiences throughout the Valley and Southwest, including his performances at Mesa's Silver Star Theater.
Chad's own website proudly carries the recognition while describing Chad Freeman & Redline as one of Arizona's premier country event bands.
For an artist who has performed everywhere from Arizona honky-tonks to international stages, it's especially fitting to see his work here at home receiving recognition.
One of the things we appreciate most about Chad's story is that despite everything he's experienced — international touring, enormous events, nationally recognized artists and some truly unforgettable stages — he's still out there doing what working musicians do.
Playing music. A lot of it.
His schedule continues to include Arizona venues, festivals, private events and regional performances, and Chad Freeman & Redline remain very much part of the live country music scene in our state.
From ballads to boot-scootin' country and everything in between, Chad brings decades of experience to the stage without losing the personality and connection that make live music fun in the first place.
And we're pretty sure Arizona country music fans will agree: there aren't many artists who can say they've been an Arizona country frontman, performed at CMA Fest, entertained crowds at the Super Bowl, traveled through 15 countries and spent four years as the Cowboy in the Village People.
That's one heck of a road to AZDCMA membership.
