Their shows carry a little retro flair, plenty of strong musicianship, and the kind of harmonies that make a room stop and listen.
Tina and Tommy each bring a deep and diverse background in professional entertainment to the band.
Tina Star has been performing since she was young, getting her start singing in church before becoming involved with the Coronado Jazz Ensemble during high school. She continued studying music and jazz vocals in college and earned the Brown Vocal Music Award in 2000, opening doors to recording opportunities with musicians from across California.
Music has never been Tina’s only connection to the stage. She was also a competitive and professional dancer from her early teens and appeared in productions including Stomp, The Nutcracker, and Gypsy. That performance background shines through in her confident stage presence, strong rhythm, and natural ability to connect with an audience. Over the years, Tina has performed both across the country and internationally.
Tommy Price began his professional music career at just 17 years old. Raised on the East Coast, he developed an appreciation for everything from R&B and pop to Southern Rock, country, and rockabilly. In the early 1990s, he fronted the R&B/pop group The Fringe before becoming the lead vocalist for the Southern Rock band Great Train Robbery, performing throughout the East Coast.
After moving to San Diego in 1997, Tommy formed the rockabilly group The Stilettos in 2000. As the band’s frontman and lead guitarist, he became known for his high-energy performances and guitar style influenced by rockabilly greats like Brian Setzer. The Stilettos remained active in the Southern California scene for more than a decade before Tommy carried the band forward in Colorado and Arizona.
Tina joined The Stilettos in 2006 as a backing vocalist, later stepping into stand-up drum duties in 2012. After marrying in 2007, Tina and Tommy continued building both their life and their musical partnership together.
When they relocated from Colorado to Arizona in 2014, their sound began to evolve. Inspired by the harmonies, storytelling, and classic country influence of artists such as The Judds, Brooks & Dunn, Dwight Yoakam, and Patsy Cline, more Country and Americana began finding their way into their live performances.
Audiences responded immediately.
By 2025, the duo officially launched TnT Band, bringing their years of experience and shared love for roots music into a new chapter.
Today, TnT Band delivers a crowd-friendly mix of classic and modern Country, Americana, Western Swing, and roots-inspired favorites. Their signature harmonies, upbeat rhythms, and engaging stage presence make them a natural fit for dance halls, honky-tonks, restaurants, casinos, festivals, private events, and anywhere people are ready to have a good time.
With more than five decades of combined professional performance experience, Tina and Tommy know how to build a show that feels polished without ever losing its personality. Their love for live music is obvious from the first song to the final encore.
And there is even more on the way. TnT Band is currently writing and recording original music, with their first releases expected in the near future.
We are thrilled to welcome TnT Band into the AZDCMA community and cannot wait to see where this next musical chapter takes them. Be sure to follow along, catch a live show when you can, and help us give Tina and Tommy a big Arizona country music welcome!
